New Mexico is a state poised for transformation: rich in educational assets, thriving industries, hotbeds of innovation, and growing opportunities for those who live here.
The bridge between the New Mexico that is today and the New Mexico that could be tomorrow lies in connecting our TrueTalent – our state’s greatest resources – with the skills and resources they need to succeed.
When we connect our youth, young families, and those who seek to achieve more with the education, business, and workforce assets we already have, they will create the future we all want.
We can stem the tide of “brain drain” and the exodus of young families by engaging them as the leaders and problem-solvers of tomorrow. If we don’t want our TrueTalent to leave, we simply must give them a reason to stay!
It won’t take a lot of change to make A LOT of change in New Mexico. We just need to be intentional in connecting the dots by closing the awareness and opportunity gaps that have persisted for far too long and telling the story of all that New Mexico has to offer.
Thanks to the work of a group of committed community leaders in Doña Ana County, we now have a blueprint for this transformation. The Workforce Talent Collaborative convened by The Bridge of Southern New Mexico has broken new ground in the development of the state’s first regional workforce development plan. Workforce talent pathways linked to higher-skilled, higher-paying industries targeted by economic development can connect youth, young adults, and even un- and under-employed workers with not just jobs, but careers, with career ladders and opportunities for advancement in skills and income.
The future of New Mexico lies in the hands of our TrueTalent. NewMexicoTrueTalent seeks to connect to all the resources they need to succeed!
